Throughout the summer, we’re working with Tyler ISD to bring Spanish items to our STAAR Test Maker item bank. Our new Spanish items will be available both in our STAAR Test Maker software and through our partnership with eduphoria!
Thousands of are items are not only being translated, but also transadapted to provide the best possible bilingual solution for Texas educators. In addition to the translation, items are being refined for cultural and grammatical differences. These items will be aligned to the latest TEKS and STAAR Readiness and Supporting Standards, and coded with their corresponding Process Skills, just like our English items. Texas educators can now rely on getting the same data from both the English and Spanish versions of our test items in our item bank.
Tyler ISD is using a team of translators to enhance our items for Spanish-speaking students. The team consists of Texas educators who are experienced in bilingual education. They have formal training and an educational background in bilingual education and linguistics, and have more than 80 years combined experience in their fields.
